See earlier section for gold coins struck between 1800 and 1818. In 1819, the fineness of the coins was reduced and the weight increased so that the coins contained the same amount of gold. The edges are straight-grained.

This low-weight coin may have been struck as a trial for a coin of the same weight as the Madras and Bombay coins but no reference has so far been found in the records. Note the absence of the dot cluster in the centre of the obverse.
