India 1840 to 1850 – Victoria Continuous Legend – Quarter Rupee

Specimens of quarter rupees were submitted on 29^th April and approval was received on 25^th May. As with the rupees and half rupees, the different mints can be distinguished by diameters, although with these smaller quarter rupees the differences are smaller. Indeed, the diameters of Bombay and Madras coins overlap, and the initial on the truncation of the neck is the only reliable distinguishing feature [1].
