India 1835 to 1840 – William IV – Half Rupee Currency

The half rupees were proclaimed current at the same time as the rupees in September 1835. However, Bombay did not receive the dies for either the half or quarter rupee very quickly and in December 1836 complained about this to Calcutta, whereupon the Calcutta mint was instructed to send the dies as soon as possible [1]
