Masulipatam (Machhlipatan) Mint – Copper, Single and Half Dubs

Struck on and off for a period of about fifty years, these coins are nevertheless quite rare (see also Vizagapatam). These coins appear to have been struck firstly in the name of Alamgir II (with his regnal years) and then from about 1190/1192 in the name of Shah Alam II (with his regnal years).

zarb bandar machhlipatan sanah [mubarak] (= struck at the port of Machhlipatan in the auspicious year of his reign)
