1652. These coins were struck at Goa for trade with Ceylon (Sri Lanka).
Countermark 'R' applied at Jaffna after capture of the fort by the Dutch in
1658. Probably to demonetize the Indo-Portuguese currency and covert it to
bullion silver (Singalese 'Ridi')
