The Nalas of Bastar claimed descent from king Nala of the Mahabharata.
Varaha or Varaha Raja, a contemporary of the Vakataka king Narendrasena, was
the first ruler of the dynasty to strike coins. On this extremely rare half
unit, the name of king is wrongly engraved as 'Vahara'insteadof 'Varaha'. |
