Western Satraps – Samghadaman (129 SE; 207 AD) as Kshatrapa – Silver

Samghadaman was one of the five sons of mighty Rudrasimha I, perhaps fourth or fifth in order. The history of Sanghadaman before SE 149 was not known at all. With the sudden appearance of a coin of SE 129, it has now come to light that 20 years before his assumption of the Mahakshatrapa title, he was declared a Kshatrapa under the leadership of his brother Rudrasena I, who was Mahakshtrapa at that time. The discovery of this coin has added new pages to Indian History.
