Chandargarh Mint

The 'Chandargarh' rupee is obviously a misreading, there is no such place existing that fits the style/design context of the rupee. It is a coin from a strange series of rupees which have previously been attributed to 'Gadraula ’ and 'Garha', but on second thoughts are more likely to be of a mint called 'Karrah' (the Farsi orthography for both these readings would exactly be the same, hence the problem!). The coin is similar to Shergarh, Kalpi etc and thus Karrah, located on the banks of Yamuna further south of Kalpi is a good possibility. (comments from Shailen Jan 2013)
