Coins of Gohad are listed under Dholpur
State in the KM, however, Gohad was never a part of
the Dholpur State. It was in possession of the Scindhias of Gwalior from 1784 till mid of 1805-06 when
after a series of treaties, it was handed over to the British. The Rana of
Gohad, who had been displaced by the Schindhias and
became of an ally of the British, was then given Dholpr
to form his own kingdom.This
is a Unique Gold Mohur of the Gwalior State from the Gohad Mint and probably
struck at the time of the Treaty with British. (From Oswal Auctions)
The cons of Gohad are listed under Dholpūr in the
present catalogue, at least for the time being.
