Najībābād was a Rohilla mint until 1774 when the
Nawāb Wazir of Awadh took the town. The town passed to the British in 1801
and the mint may have continued operations until 1805, although no evidence for
this exists in the records and no coins can be attributed to this mint during
the time following British acquisition (see Bengal Presidency, Transitional
mints)
