History

Nuṣratgarh was the name given to fortress of Gingee (Senji), parts of which were captured by the Mughals under the command of Zulfiqar Khān whose title was “Nuṣrat Jang”, when it was besieged in an attempt to drive out the Maratha Chhatrapati Rajaram.
