The later coinage of the Sironj mint has
been discussed by Bhandare (Bhandare S (2006), JONS 190, p. 30).
In particular he showed that the control of the mint appears to have passed
from the Moghuls to the Marathas after year 13 of Muhammad Shah. The Moghul and
Maratha issues are easily distinguished, one from another, by the marks in the seen of julūs – two dots for the Moghul
coins and a pentafoil mark for those of the Marathas.
