The 38th regnal year commenced therefore in 28th August 1948 and as the
AH1367 ended 2nd November 1948, this coin must have been struck within this
period and most probably on the occasion of the celebration of his 38th
coronation day and well before the Indian troops, in a so-called
"police-action", on 13th September 1948 invaded the Nizam’s domains
after which an Indian administration was established throughout the state on
19th September 1948. The Nizam issued a firman on 24th November 1949, in which he
announced that Hyderabad would also be governed by the forthcoming new
constitution, then being considered by the Constituent Assembly in Delhi, and
effective from 26th
January 1950. Installed as Rajpramukh of Hyderabad 26th January 1950,
serving in this capacity until the reorganisation of the states on linguistic
grounds 31st October 1956.
He died at Nazri Bagh, King Kothi Palace, Hyderabad, 24th January 1967.
