The coin
bears a couplet known only on coins of Dilshadabad and Imtiyazgarh mints -
Sikka zad dar Jahan chu Mihr Muneer Sahib Qiran Thani Badshah Alamgir. It is
arranged in four lines on obverse. The coin was struck during the period of
political uncertainty precipitated by the conflict of succession bet(ween the
four sons of Nizam ul-Mulk Asaf Jah I in mid-1750s.Dilshadabad, alias
Narayanpett was one of the Hindu 'Samsthanas' feudatory to the Nizams. |
