Marathas – Shāhjahānābād Mint, INO Shāh ‘Ālam II – Copper

The coin was minted by the Marathas after they deposed Shah Jahan III on 10 October 1760. However the Marathas lost control of Delhi in late October 1760. Their line of communication from Delhi to Kunjpura was cut off by the Afghans near Sonipat. So these must have been issued for a short time. (from Abhishek Chatterjee)
