“Nusratgarh”was the name given to
fortress of Gingee (Senji), parts of which were captured by the Mughals under
the command of Zulfiqar Khan whose title was “Nusrat Jang”, when it was
besieged in an attempt to drive out the Maratha Chhatrapati Rajaram.
