Jahangir, 1605-1628, AR rupee, Jahangirnagar, year 14 Ardibihisht, KM-145.7, Album

From Shailen Bhandare who wrote: An unrecorded Jahangir fraction - rectangular quarter rupee of Jahangirnagar mint, 'Noor Dah' couplet, perhaps struck as a Nisar. It appears to be undated. The couplet reads -
obverse - سکه بود نور ده مهر و ماه
Sikka buwad Noor Dah Mihr wa Mah
reverse - تا اید از اسم جهانگیر شاه ...
Ta Abd az Ism-i Jahangir Shah
"Till eternity, the stamp of the name of Jahangir Shah may give light to Sun and Moon" - followed by the mint-name 'Zarb Jahangirnagar'.
The couplet is inscribed in a variant form here - usually, as seen on coins of Kabul mint, the second hemistich has the words 'ba-Naam-i'. Here the word 'Naam' (name) is replaced by its synonym 'Ism'.
