Ahmadabad mint, dated AH1069/RY33. The date shows it was struck after Shah
Jahan had already been deposed for almost a year, Murad Bakhsh had had his
short reign only to be defeated and imprisoned, and Aurangzeb had held his first
coronation. It looks like even after his successes, not everyone believed
Aurangzeb would be the Emperor. While regular coins of some mints are known
to have this interesting date/RY combination, this is the first time a Nisar
is being noted with it. One wonders what must have prompted its issue -
perhaps a fake news that Aurangzeb's efforts had been wasted and Shah Jahan
