Evidently, this
is from a hoard found somewhere in the Punjab before 1935 - die-identical
pieces exist in the collection of the Fitzwilliam Museum, Cambridge; The
British Museum and the Asiatic Society of Mumbai, all of which were on the
'register' for receiving hoard-dispersal coins. The Fitzwilliam Museum
records show the coin in their collection is a "gift of the Govt. of the
Punjab". |
