Photo from Abhishek
Chatterjee who wrote: Shah Jahan dam, 20 gms, Bairata mint, 1038Ah/Ahd..
The falus Shah Jahani type
is the scarcer variety of this otherwise common mint. The commoner 'Sahib
Qiran' type is found abundantly. Incidently, I have
found that Falus Shah Jahani type in Bairata is found only for 1037Ah/Ahd and 1038Ah/Ahd. From
1038Ah/ry2 onwards the sahib qiran type is seen except for 1065Ah/ry28 and
1065Ah/Ry29(these 2 dates have decorated and large flans).
From Abhishek Chatterjee who wrote: Shah Jahan, Dam and 1/8 dam i.e damri (20gms and 2.54gms.) Bairata mint.. Shah Jahani type.. The Shah Jahani type is scarcer than the sahib qiran type among the dams. The damri should be ex-rare as it is not mentioned in any museum catalogues, auction catalogues or book. This is the first time that I have come across one.
