Other Peninsular Polities – Alupas

The Two Fishes "the Meena lanchhana", was the dynastic emblem of the Alupas or Alvas, who ruled present-day Mangalore and Udupi districts of the state Karnataka and the Kasaragod district of the state Kerala for nearly 1000 years. They ruled the Alvakheda region independently in the beginning (200 BC to 450 CE). (Extract from Marudhar Arts)
