Sulṭāns of Bengal – Ghiyāth al-dīn A’ẕam – Issued During the Reign of his Father, Satgāon (‘arṣah) Mint

Similar to B229 but the quatrilobe on rev has a different orientation and the reverse legends are differently arranged

The legend in a square with loops: al-mu’ayyad bi-ta ‘yīd al-ramān ghiyāth al-dunyā wa al-dīn abū al-muaffar a’am shāh al-sulṭān (= Victorious in the support of the merciful, helper of the world and the faith, father of victory, A’ẕam Shāh, the Sulṭān). The four Caliphs are in the loops:

أبو بكر، عمر، عثمان، علي

The legend in a quatrilobe: nāṣir al-islām wa’l muslimīn yamīn amīr al-mū’minīn (= Defender of Islam and the Muslims, right-hand man of the leader of the faithful). Mint and date in margin:

ضرب هذه السكة في عرصة ستكانو سنة إحدى و تسعين (و سبعمائة)
