Sūrīs – Muḥammad ‘Ādil Shāh (AH 960-964, AD 1552-1556), Jaunpūr Mint – Silver – Type 9

The coin is dated 964 and is stylistically very similar to the issues of Chunar, Jhusi and the very rare Prayag mints of the same year. Muhammad 'Adil's authority was recognized in the middle Gangetic plain for a short while before he was killed by Jalal Shah of Bengal in that year.
